Heritage Commission, Cruise Saudi partner to promote cultural tourism
Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Heritage Commission has
signed a memorandum of understanding with Cruise Saudi, a company wholly owned
by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to enhance cooperation in showcasing Saudi
cultural heritage within cruise itineraries and integrating heritage designs
into ship and port facilities.
This initiative aims to bolster the Kingdom's position as a global tourism
destination with a rich cultural identity.
The collaboration includes integrating cultural heritage sites into cruise
itineraries, activating intangible cultural heritage elements onboard the Aroya
Cruises, and organizing exhibitions to showcase Saudi culture.
Additionally, it will provide visual materials on cultural heritage sites and
facilitate exploratory programs and diving visits to underwater heritage sites,
per approved regulations.
The MoU also addresses incorporating heritage designs into cruise facilities and
passenger terminals, naming itineraries after elements of national heritage, and
using heritage sites for special events to welcome cruise guests.
This agreement advances the commission's efforts to promote national heritage
through maritime tourism and partnerships with public and private sectors,
reinforcing the Kingdom's status as a leading cultural and tourist destination.
