Kuwait seeks stronger Japan investment ties
Kuwait:
Kuwait is keen to boost its appeal to Japanese
investors and expand bilateral economic cooperation, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Japan
Sami Al-Zamanan said. In a press statement issued during an investment promotion
seminar organized by the Kuwaiti Embassy in collaboration with the Kuwait Direct
Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and the Japan External Trade Organization
(JETRO), Al-Zamanan reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to attracting Japanese
expertise and capital. He stressed that the embassy “always stands at the
service” of Japanese companies seeking economic and trade opportunities in
Kuwait, praising the professionalism and accumulated experience of Japanese
firms.
The Embassy noted that the seminar was held within
the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed between KDIPA and JETRO
during the visit of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad
Al-Sabah to Japan last May. Representatives from 20 major Japanese corporations
attended the event, which highlighted investment prospects in Kuwait and
discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation. The program included
interventions from Mitsubishi Corporation, which shared its operations and
experience in Kuwait, and Citibank Japan, which presented an overview of its
activities in the country and its outlook on Kuwait’s economic trajectory.
KDIPA also delivered a detailed presentation on available investment
opportunities, particularly within the framework of Kuwait Vision 2035 and
ongoing infrastructure and economic diversification projects. The embassy
emphasized that the forum reflects the growing momentum in Kuwaiti-Japanese
economic relations and reaffirms both countries’ commitment to expanding
strategic partnerships in support of Kuwait’s long-term sustainable development
goals.
